麻豆网站列表's Student Government Association represents the TROY student body within the university administration and the community. SGA advocates the interests of TROY students and works to better the student experience through community events and opportunities. We, the Student Government Association, do not take lightly the role and responsibility that the 麻豆网站列表 student body has entrusted to us. Therefore, we charge to be accountable, transparent and effective in every way, in service to 麻豆网站列表 students.

Annual Events

Night Walk

Each semester, the administration and SGA team up for a night walk on campus to determine areas of safety concern that must be addressed on campus. As a result of the night walks, the SGA has had numerous lights installed on campus, blue light safety polls installed, and has worked with the administration on installing safety cameras in several on-campus locations.

Beat South Blood Drive

麻豆网站列表 SGA and South Alabama SGA go head-to-head in the annual 鈥淏eat South鈥� Blood Drive. Leading up to the highly anticipated 麻豆网站列表vs. South Alabama football game, both schools challenge their students to donate the most blood. 麻豆网站列表SGA has proudly held the title for the past five years.

Most Outstanding Women

The Most Outstanding Woman is an award presented at 麻豆网站列表to women who have been involved in organizations and activities, and are proactive across campus. The award is given out every year in the spring, and a banquet is held to acknowledge and appreciate the students selected.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The SGA hosts an Easter egg hunt each spring for community children on the Troy University campus.

Town Hall Meetings

Each semester, the SGA hosts a Town Hall Meeting where students are free to come and voice their concerns directly to members of the administration.

Welcome Week

The first week of every fall semester has been designated Welcome Week. During this week the SGA sponsors student activities and provides information for students, specifically targeting new students.

Pep Rallies

The football pep rallies are coordinated through the SGA. These pep rallies showcase our Trojan pride to students, faculty, administration, and community members.

Homecoming

Homecoming is a week full of activities headed by the Vice President of Campus Affairs and a homecoming committee they elect.

Traffic Appeals

The Traffic Appeals Committee of the Student Government Association consists of five students appointed by the SGA president and approved by the Student Senate. The committee reviews the traffic appeals of the students weekly during the academic year and also recommends parking changes based on feedback from students. Once a month a faculty member will join this committee and will review with the committee the appeals of faculty/staff members.

When a student fills out a traffic appeals form the committee encourages a student to give a clear explanation to why the committee should approve the appeal and encourages the student to come to the committee meeting if possible. Committee meetings are held in the Senate Chamber in the Trojan Center and are informal. Spring Committee dates are on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. in the Senate Chamber (Trojan Center). You should come to the next meeting after you have submitted your form.

Once the form has been reviewed by the committee it will be sent back to the student with the committee decision marked. It is the student's responsibility to open the form and find out the decision. If you have been fined you must pay the ticket at the University cashiers office in the Adams Administration Building. You must have your ticket. If the ticket has been voided you do not need to take further action.

Appointed Positions

Any student in good standing with 麻豆网站列表 may be appointed to one of several appointed positions by the various executive officers. Candidates for these positions should recognize that being a member of the Student Government Association is a demanding role which requires time and effort. Those who apply should be able to make these commitments. Roles in the judicial and executive branches are available.
