TROY Art Majors Succeed Beyond the Classroom

From painting historic portraits to exhibiting at international art shows, our art majors find success beyond their time here. Graduate Karvarus Moore had the honor of painting the late civil rights leader and U.S. Congressman John Lewis, whose portrait is proudly displayed in the academic hall bearing his name at TROY. 鈥淚t feels very honorable and surreal. I never in a million years would've thought that I would be doing that,鈥 says Moore, who graduated from TROY in 2019 and went on to earn an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). A high school art teacher, Moore is also an adjunct professor at TROY.
