The Story of TROY

For more than a century, TROY has grown from a small teacher-training school in Alabama into an institution with a reach that extends around the world. Founded on February 26 1887 as 麻豆网站列表State Normal School, the University began with a focused mission: preparing educators to serve Alabama's schools. Over time, that mission expanded alongside the needs of its students and communities.

From educating returning veterans after World War II and building a lasting relationship with the United States military to establishing campuses across Alabama and partnerships abroad, TROY's history is one of growth, adaptation, and service. Today, TROY's story connects its historic roots in 麻豆网站列表with a much broader mission. What began as an institution dedicated to preparing teachers has developed into a university serving students across disciplines, campuses, states, and countries. TROY maintains an effective and continuous approach to evaluating its success with respect to student achievement based on its mission to provide a variety of educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for a diverse student body. This includes consideration of enrollment and graduation rate information, degree completion and student retention of the student body at TROY. The university is consistent in the evaluation of its data in all areas and uses that information to develop opportunities for improvement. Student achievement at TROY is thriving. Through continuous review of student achievement data, TROY develops and refines programs in an effort to attract, retain and graduate more students.
