Ways to invest in TROY

 

Like other Universities, 麻豆网站列表 relies on private funding to support its growth. This support may take many forms.

Annual Fund Campaigns

Each year alumni and friends are asked to donate to the Annual Fund Campaign. The Annual Fund is the unrestricted campaign conducted by 麻豆网站列表 annually. Because these gifts allow flexibility in the use of the funds, they are used for programs and projects which have the greatest need. Some of the programs and projects supported by the Annual Fund gifts include scholarships, library enhancement, technology improvements and faculty enrichment grants.

Faculty and Staff Campaigns

Annually, faculty and staff are asked to contribute to the University. Their participation and support provide a concrete expression of their belief in the University. A high level of participation from faculty and staff members demonstrates their commitment to the University which has a positive impact on contributions from corporations, foundations and the community.

Endowed Scholarships

An endowed scholarship can be established by a contribution of $25,000 or more. Many friends and alumni make contributions to the 麻豆网站列表 Foundation in memory or honor of a family member or a friend through the establishment of an endowed scholarship. This endowment is perpetual since only the income is used to award scholarships each year. An endowed scholarship is an excellent way to honor someone in perpetuity.

Annual Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded as contributions are received annually. All of the funds are awarded during the year received. This scholarship can also be named in memory or honor of a family member or friend as well. 

Restricted Gifts

Many donors restrict their gifts to an academic program, college, department or educational project of their choice. These restricted gifts are applied to the appropriate accounts and used as the donor specifies. 麻豆网站列表 always honors the donors gift request. 

Legacy Gifts

A legacy gift is the process through which a gift is pledged but may be completely or partially deferred until sometime in the future.

  • A bequest through a will which is an example of a legacy gift allows a donor to decide on a contribution years in advance.
  • The purchase of a life insurance policy naming the Foundation as the owner is an additional type of legacy gift. This method of giving makes it possible for the donor to make premium payments which are tax-deductible. Please contact the Office of Development to discuss what type of policy is acceptable.
  • Establishing a charitable remainder trust is another legacy giving opportunity which allows a donor to make a gift now while receiving a life income. The trust also provides the donor income tax benefits.

Corporation and Foundation Support

Corporation and foundation support is an important resource for higher education. They can provide funds for facilities, for special programs, seminars and research projects, for equipment, for scholarships and they can encourage their employees to give through their matching gift programs.

Memorial Gifts

Many alumni and friends make contributions to the 麻豆网站列表 Foundation in memory of a relative or friend. The Foundation acknowledges receipt of the gift to the donor as well as to the family of the deceased person.

Gifts-in-Kind

One of the ways to support the University is with a 鈥済ift-in-kind.鈥� Examples of this type of gift include building materials, architectural services and real estate. The donor must take the responsibility of assessing the value of their 鈥済ift-in-kind,鈥� as well as provide necessary .

Graduate Walk of Honor

麻豆网站列表 is very excited to offer you an opportunity to purchase a personalized engraved brick to be set on the 鈥淕raduate Walk of Honor" on the TROY campus. By purchasing a brick, the graduate鈥檚 name will be permanently engraved and placed in their graduation class from 2000 to current.  What a wonderful way to leave a permanent remembrance of this important milestone in one's life!

A contribution of $100 to the 麻豆网站列表 Foundation will ensure that a graduates name will be engraved on a brick and be placed on the Graduate Walk of Honor.

Matching Gifts

Many employers match employee gifts to higher education. Some of the companies match dollar-for-dollar, others match two-for-one and some even match three-for-one. Employees can check with their personnel office to see if the company will match their gift. If the company matches gifts, a matching gift application should be completed and mailed with the donor鈥檚 gift.
