Preparing for Business and Accounting: The School of Accountancy Internship Program

Accountants across all industries have increasing professional and managerial responsibilities. Helping you gain the professional experience you need to excel in your accounting career or graduate studies is central to our mission. That's why TROY places so much emphasis on developing leadership skills in your courses and internships. 

To prepare you for roles in accounting and business, the School of Accountancy at TROY facilitates a 3-credit-hour paid internship program that provides the opportunity for real-life accounting experiences. You'll take what you've learned in the classroom and translate it in the real world, practicing your accounting, leadership and business skills. You'll also have opportunities to network with recruiters during on-campus events, such as Accountancy Day, Spring Meet the Firms, and Accounting Society meetings. The connections you make during these events could lead to internships or full-time employment.

Dr. Josh McGowan

Dr. Josh McGowan is an Associate Professor and Director of the Carr School of Accountancy at TROY. Dr. McGowan's career started in accounting services and progressed to a role as an auditor at a regional accounting firm. He then transitioned to a position as CFO for a marine company, where he led long-term strategic initiatives. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Creighton University, along with both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in accounting from 麻豆网站列表.
